Training: Reasonable Suspicion Supervisor

This two hour training sessions will prepare supervisors for making the determination of whether reasonable suspicion exists to test an employee for drug and/or alcohol use. Hour one covers the physical, behavioral, speech and performance indicators of the use of controlled substances. The second hour covers these indicators in reference to alcohol use. Supervisory training is mandatory for companies that are

Section 382.603: Anyone who is designated to supervise drivers must have received the two required 60-minute sessions of training.

Section 382.307: requires a driver to submit to an alcohol or drug test when the employer has reasonable suspicionto believe the driver has violated the prohibitions in Section 382.201 through 382.215. The employer’s reasonable suspicion must be based on specific, contemporaneous, articulable observations concerning the appearance, behavior, speech or body odors of the driver.
